Andy Carpenter

Distant Signal’s upcoming release of our first novel, Irreplaceable (formerly Bounty) will have the astounding artist Andy Carpenter designing the cover. Andy’s work has graced timeless covers like Tom Brokaw’s The Greatest Generation, Richard Preston’s The Hot Zone and Carl Sagan’s Billions and Billions.

Being an advocate of small and independent press, and of course great design, we are thrilled to be working with him.

From his website:

Andy Carpenter is the Creative Director and founder of ACD Book Cover Design. He has over 25 years experience in design and art direction at New York publishing houses including Random House (Art Director for 10 years), St. Martin’s Press (Art Director for 10 years), Rodale Publishing (Art Director for 7 years), and Black Dog & Leventhal.

Andy’s interests are in self-publishing, small presses, e-books, and green printing. He is a frequent speaker on design at publishing events and held a board position at The Small Press Center for 5 years. Although a fan of e-books, he is also dedicated to the printed book and is a collector of early leather bound editions, first editions, and hard cover/jacketed pulp fiction from the 1940s and 50s.

Have a look at the rest of he and his portfolio over at ACD Book Cover Design and go buy a book for crying out loud!

Speaking of, Irreplaceable will be broadcasting its signal through eReaders, worldwide on September 17, 2013.
