VFW (Veterans of Foreign War) – I Am Definitely Seeing This!

YouTube player

An action horror film that I am definitely going to spend a little money on to stream.

Described as: THE WILD BUNCH meets NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, the film follows Fred and his military buddies as they must defend their local V.F.W. (Veterans of Foreign Wars) post – and an innocent teen – against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants. These Vietnam vets have been to hell and back, but this will be the longest night of their lives.

A really good trailer for a movie that looks like a hell of a lot of fun, VFW is a great way to kick off the Horror Community here on Steem!

It’s got a great cast and a director that I think can pull a concept like this off. If you’re into indie horror, check out his Scanners like film, The Mind’s Eye. It stars Graham Skipper, an actor I quite like in the low budget arena of horror. I hope that he rises into some bigger budget films, but if you wanna see some of his wide-eyed acting, it’s a great start.

Directed by: Joe Begos
Starring: Stephen Lang, William Sadler, Fred Williamson, Martin Kove, Sierra McCormick, David Patrick Kelly

It feels a lot like a grind house film, and despite the above comparisons to The Wild Bunch and Night of the Living Dead, I’m getting some Straw Dogs, trapped in one location and gotta fight your way out, vibe. Love the colors.

I’m in!
