Now on the New DTube!

Howdy, folks!

DTube might have finally become what I’ve always wanted it to be. Despite it not operating on the Steem blockchain, both the DTube and Steem blockchains are at least interoperable. While I’m still learning what that means in terms of how they function together, I am VERY glad to see that I’m able to directly link to YouTube when uploading new content.

For the longest time, I have been frustrated by the IPFS video serving limitations and I haven’t been able to set up my own server due to lack of time. This system has led to my videos and thumbnails disappearing from the DTube platform, so I avoided posting until the system evolved.

Consider this my turning point.

To test this new system, I uploaded my short film, I Love You via the YouTube linkage interface and it worked!

So far, SteemPeak and Steemit don’t seem to allow for automatic embeds, so I had to insert the above manually. I’m sure this will change as things go along, but it is a little annoying. If anyone has a way to do this, please lemme know.

Please give it a test and let me know if you have any trouble using it or if the film won’t play.

SUBSCRIBERS

If anyone had been subscribed to me on DTube, please resubscribe. Due to the new blockchain, DTube has scrubbed all their users of their previous subscribers and I do plan on transferring all my material to DTube over the coming weeks.

FIRED UP

This new development has got me all fired up about Steem and DTube again. After the fiasco that was HF21 announcement and how it was developed, I’m feeling much more positive about things. I’m not sure how the rewards system will break down for DTube, but there are so many new features that will make DTube so much easier to use, that I’m willing to give it a chance.

Keep an eye out there for all of my Changelings series vids about the making of. I’ll be uploading them there and restarting the series.

In fact, tonight is my first production meeting for the sizzle and subsequent short.

Okay, gotta get back to things here.
